The winter weather can wreak havoc on the skin, with the cold air outside and the drying heat inside. The new Locust Valley spa, Pamper Mommie Aesthetics and Make-Up, offers the perfect services for a little tender loving care.
“Your face is the first thing people see, so why not make a great first impression,” says owner Bessie Ktistakis.
She says that now more than ever, people are really into “personal care.”
“It has become a necessity rather than a luxury,” Ktistakis says. “The treatments that I offer are not only relaxing and therapeutic, but result- oriented. Clients can visibly see a difference in their skin after the very first treatment. In turn, this helps to boost their confidence, and that makes it very rewarding.”
Ktistakis, who lives in Glen Cove, is a NYS licensed aesthetician with more than 10 years of experience and wanted to open her business close to home. She found the available space on Burch Hill Road and thought it was the perfect location. She immediately began renovating it to create a warm yet upscale atmosphere.
The spa was designed with luxury in mind, leaving no detail untouched. The waiting room feels elegant, and getting a treatment really is a treat. The room is heated, the music is relaxing yet unobtrusive and the facial treatment allows clients to truly relax.
Ktistakis offers an array of skin care services; clients can choose what they want or have a consultation with Ktistakis who will provide the services best suited for the particular needs of her clients. On the menu of offerings are microdermabrasion, oxygen infusion, body treatments, waxing and make-up application.
During the facial, clients are treated to a head, neck and shoulder massage and will also have their hands wrapped in a warm mitts to slough off dead skin cells and bring moisture back to the area. The types of facials offered include a deep pore-clearing facial, a hydrating facial that includes a botanical soft peel, and a quick fix mini facial,
Despite the name, Ktistakis emphasizes her services are not just for mommies: she offers a teen and tween facial as an introduction to skin care, including instructions on how to care for skin at home, a “daddy time” facial to relieve irritation and abrasions caused by shaving, and special services such as brow and lash tinting, make-up for special occasions, air brush makeup application.
Mommies-to-be might also want to experience a pampering treatment such as the “Blossoming Belly Facial” which is meant to help prevent stretch marks and sooth dry itchy skin during pregnancy.
“Clients are astonished that they are still receiving compliments weeks later,” she says. “I specialize in various skincare treatments, to accommodate all levels of skin sensitivity. I also offer a customized at-home skin care maintenance program, which encourages life long skin care habits.”
Ktistakis says her attention to detail, results, and desire to give her clients an outstanding experience have earned the confidence of those who are hesitant in getting a facial, or have had a bad experience. She says that, in her free time she is always researching new and innovative treatments to offer to her clients.
Services are available by appointment only; visit pampermommie.com or call 603.8925 to book a treatment.
