Carol Lee Bailey, a long-time resident of Sea Cliff who relocated to Waltham, MA a few years ago, died in her sleep on Friday, Nov. 8, from complications from COPD. Carol was an active member of Roslyn Presbyterian Church in Roslyn and Trinity Church in Waltham, MA. She was an avid Mets fan, though since her move to Boston, the Red Sox also enjoyed her allegiance. Carol moved to Massachusetts in 2010 to be near her daughter Kate, and grandchildren Maeve and Reese Burnham. Carol is survived by her sisters Leslie Eve McHale, Beverly Bailey Shields, and daughters Leslie Marie O’Shea, Jean vPatricia O’Shea and Kathryn Eileen Burnham. In addition to Maeve and Reese Burnham, she is survived by grandchildren Jakob Parker, Cierra Borgers and Gabrielle Bailey. Carol died at peace and with faith in Christ’s redemptive love. She will be missed.

Public relations executive for Mobil Oil and numerous firms. Author of six books. Former City of Glen Cove Commissioner of Assessments. Beloved husband of Donata for 62 years. Grace Josephine Mahon, 93, of Glen Cove, died on Nov. 6, 2013. Beloved wife of the late William L. Mahon for 72 years. Loving mother of Arline (Don) Ellison, William P. (Jeanette) Mahon and Joanne (Jeff) Young. Dear sister of Alma Petzolt, Hazel Magner and the late Tillie, Edna and Buddy. Grace was the proud grandmother of Joy Siragusa, James Ellison, Joline Ahrens, William Young and great-grandmother of Gabriel, Ryan, Stephania, Christopher, Jaclyn and Jillian. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews and extended family. Grace was co-founder of the St. Patrick’s Church Thrift Shop where she worked for over 20 years. Anne Haggerty of Manhattan and Locust Valley died on Oct. 15, 2013 age 59. Beloved daughter of Marita Haggerty-Doherty (Joseph) and the late George. Loving sister of Beth, Meg, Greg, John and Laura. Anne worked as the Editorial Director of Human Resources at Conde Nast in Manhattan. She was a very creative person who was loved by her family & friends and will be greatly missed. John Capri, formerly of Old Brookville, died on Sept. 26, 2013. Loving husband of Sandra. Dear father of Steven (Lisa) Capri and Michele (Stephen) Hoey. He spent 48 years living in Glen Head and Old Brookville. He was president of Construction by Design Corp. and Capri Construction Management and was very active in Glen Head Rotary Club; he joined in 1972 and held a number of positions. In 1997 he was made a Paul Harris Fellow and received citations from the Town of Oyster Bay and the City of Glen Cove for his community service work in the Gift of Life program.
