Frederick B. Spencer passed away peacefully on May 4, 2009 in Rexford, NY, at the age 92. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Kathleen (Kay); two children, Gail Chase (Larry) and Frederick Jr. (Darlene); and four grandchildren. He was born and raised in Brooklyn’s Park Slope, served in WWII with the Army Air Corps, then moved to Glen Head (and later Old Brookville) to raise his family. He worked as a stock specialist and owned a seat on the American Stock Exchange. He retired in 1979 and moved to Whispering Pines, NC, where he and Kay spent 25 active, healthy, and happy years. His final years were spent in upstate New York. Like his father, he loved the ocean and golf, which he continued to play up to age 91. He will be interred in Brooklyn’s Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
