Obituary: Tatiana Britt, 1929 – 2013

Tatiana Britt of Glen Cove passed away peacefully in her home. She is predeceased by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Michael Britt Senior, and the devoted mother of Michael John Britt Jr. She is the sister of Zinaida Mary Laskowski and daughter of John and Wera Erman, who have also gone before her. Tania is reunited with her family in God’s loving arms.


Tania was born in Czechoslovakia on April 4, 1929 and immigrated to this country with her family as a teenager. She attended Millsaps College in Mississippi and was awarded a degree in chemistry. She and her husband settled in Glen Cove, and were residents of Glen Cove for over 50 years. Together, Tania and her husband first established a professional photography studio, then later they opened MBI Firearms in Mineola, a successful shop and sporting club.


Tatiana is survived by three nieces, two grand-nieces and one grand-nephew.  She will be remembered as a vibrant and enthusiastic woman, and loved by many.  


Funeral arrangements made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Russian Orthodox Services were held at Our Lady of Kazan, Sea Cliff, followed by the burial at East Hillside Cemetery, Glen Cove.
