Evelyn was born and a lifelong resident of Port Washington until 1951 when she moved to Glen Head with her husband William and daughter Lee. She worked at Johnson’s in Bethpage during WWII as a draftperson. In later years she was involved with many artistic endeavors, the United Methodist Church of Sea Cliff and the Goldren Ring having served as president in 1983-84. She loved crafts and two of her prized pieces were 3’x5’ pictures she not only hooked but cut and dyed the wool for.
A memorial service and celebration of her new life with Christ will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Sea Cliff, Downing and Carpenter Avenues. Guests are invited to join the family for a reception following the service in the fellowship hall adjoining the church. Donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Sea Cliff, the Salvation Army or Disabled American Veterans.
