Letter: Thanks To Volunteers

With the holidays soon approaching, the rehab staff at Glen Cove Hospital would like to show our deepest appreciation to our valued volunteers. Through the years, they have been providing us with their help in physical therapy, occupational, speech and recreational therapies. We are honoring them with a holiday luncheon to show our sincere gratitude for their dedication.

The volunteers at Glen Cove Hospital have become a vital part of our rehab family. They unselfishly lend a helping hand to our patients and staff. They have opened up their hearts to donate their time for volunteering as well as raising money for hospital services.

Some of our volunteers have been patients themselves and recognize the impact our services have on patients. Many volunteers and their families are residents of Glen Cove and neighboring towns, while some travel relatively far. All our committed to  providing the highest standard of care for our patients.

Our volunteers are an essential part of our rehab team here at Glen Cove Hospital. Some their duties include but are not limited to assisting our aides in transportation to and from therapy gyms and assisting in wheelchair follows for patients’ safety. Most importantly, these volunteers provide encouragement and emotional support to patients throughout a very difficult period in their lives. They never hesitate to offer a celebratory clap or cheer for a patient attaining even the smallest of goals.

It is imperative that we recognize these special individuals for their kindness, loyalty and fortitude. Especially in these uncertain times with many changes the hospital is facing, a very special “thank you” is in order for these wonderful human beings. Their help has provided a positive impact on the care we render every day, to each and every one of our patients. We are eternally grateful.
