Letter: LAXFEST A Success

The Glen Cove Junior Lacrosse Club would like to thank everyone who contributed to a successful LAXFEST this past Saturday. We want to especially thank Mayor Reggie Spinello for attending the event and mixing it up with the young lacrosse stars of Glen Cove.

The day started off wet and ended in the same fashion, but not a second of lacrosse action was spared as six Glen Cove lacrosse teams took to the field without even thinking twice about not playing due to a little rain.  Many thanks go out to all the coaches for their continuous time and effort put in to teaching the game and sportsmanship to the kids. We’d also like to acknowledge the City of Glen Cove, the Glen Cove School District, the entire Field family and coach Tripp and AD Denise Kiernan for their help in organizing the event.

GC Junior Baseball also needs to be acknowledged for working with us on our game scheduling. And of course all the dedicated lacrosse fans who came out to support the growing sport of lacrosse in Glen Cove.

We are celebrating our 20th season of youth lacrosse in Glen Cove and look forward to many more years of great support from our players, parents, coaches and fans. We welcome you all to join us at the Knights of Columbus on Saturday, May 31 for our annual fundraiser.  It’s going to be a great night out!
