What a great job done by the Glen Cove High School Select Chorale in singing our National Anthem at the New York Islanders hockey game on Wednesday, Oct. at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. I wish every member of our community could have seen the hard work and training that was evident in order to get them to this level.
These young people of Glen Cove performed one of the proudest and most tear jerking performances of The Star Spangled Banner that I have ever seen. It was very impressive to watch as the entire crowd at the Coliseum focused on them as they sang in the most professional manner. As the evening went on they entertained the crowd with their well-coordinated cheers and “roller coaster rides.” They were well behaved and made me proud to be season ticket holder. I hope they perform again.
