Letter: Thank You Mayor Suozzi, Deputy Mayor Basdavanos, and City Council Members

On behalf of the participants of the Glen Cove Senior Center, thank you so much for hosting the Third Annual Senior Recognition Day on Saturday, May 9 in Village Square. Your acknowledgment of the contributions over the years of older residents is most appreciated, and quite commendable.

 By paying tribute to area centenarians and former City Councilwoman Joan Meehan, a beautiful day became even more meaningful, and we at the Senior Center are extremely grateful that proceeds from Senior Recognition Day benefited the Glen Cove SAGE Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing services for the senior community.

We feel so fortunate that each and every one of you treasures the accomplishments, contributions, and sacrifices of senior citizens and hold them in high esteem. It means more than you can imagine to this special population and their families and friends. Again, thank you for an exciting and grand day. It was a tremendous success.
