GC Boys JV Basketball Off To A Fast Start

 Glen Cove Boys’ JV Basketball team started their season on Nov. 30 against their rival, Locust Valley. Glen Cove won 60-33. This win was a result of a full team effort. Adrian Berisha and Artan Berisha led the team in scoring in the first half. Excellent team play continued in the third quarter. Glen Cove held Locust Valley to only four points in the third quarter.

 In the fourth quarter the Big Red continued their excellent defense with multiple players contributing. Joshua Martin and Corey Dinkins had two steals each in the fourth quarter to seal the win for Glen Cove. David Duda had eight rebounds and two blocks. Artan Berisha finished with a team high 13 points and Adrian Berisha had 12 points. Elijah Robinsion, William Beglin, Steve Ernest, Michael Payton, Manny Sican, Andres Sican, Elijah Ambles, Gabe Stone and Khalil Zachary were also key players in the win displaying great hustle off the bench. 

 The team kept their winning ways to start off the season by going on the road and winning big against West Hempstead by a score of 67-40. After the end of the first half, Glen Cove was up 42-19. Great team defense and team play led to a lot of easy baskets for Glen Cove on offense. Steve Ernest led the team in scoring in the first half with 10 points. Corey Dinkins chipped in with six points. David Duda, Artan Berisha and Joshua Martin played excellent defense to build the big lead in the first half.

 In the beginning of the third quarter Glen Cove continued their excellent team play by building their score to 58-31. Kasion Mack hit a couple big shots in the third quarter for the Big Red. Elijah Robinsion, William Beglin, Michael Payton, Andres Sican, Elijah Ambles, Gabe Stone and Khalil Zachary were also key players in the win, coming off the bench. 

Glen Cove JV Boys’ Basketball team keeps working hard and continues to show improvement. The team hit the road on Dec.14 to play their first league game against Levittown Division. The coaching staff has been really happy with the team’s hard work and effort so far this season.
