Congratulations to Glen Cove runner Stephanie Hoffmann who was an award winner in the 30th annual Runner’s Edge Long Island Women’s Run on July 13.
Hoffmann crossed the finish line at Farmingdale High School in a time of 22 minutes, 44 seconds to earn the fourth place plaque in the 40-44 age group. She was 50th overall in a field of 439 runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes crossed the finish line on the track at Farmingdale High School.
The heat and humidity certainly played their role this year, but the earlier starting time of 8:30 a.m. took a bit of the edge off, and the ice cream, watermelon, and the sinful pastries donated by All Round Foods at the finish line made everyone forget how tough the run might have been.
Glen Cove the matrimonial law firm of Mejias Milgrim and Alvarado served once again as the most generous presenting sponsor of the run. Randi Milgrim, who is a partner on the firm, was also a participant in the Run finishing in 31:49.
The proceeds of this year’s run will once again be distributed to The Opening Word, a special program administered by the Dominican Sisters that provides education and job training to poor uneducated women in Huntington Station, Amityville and Wyandanch.
