Six of the nine villages on the Great Neck peninsula will hold elections on Tuesday, March 17. The villages of Great Neck Estates, Great Neck Plaza, Russell Gardens, Saddle Rock, and Thomaston all have uncontested elections. Only one post, that of village justice in Kensington, is contested.
In the Village of Kensington, incumbent Village Justice Stephen Taub is being challenged by Martin Bergstein. Running uncontested in Kensington is Mayor David Burghardt, along with trustee candidates Susan Lopatkin and incumbent Bonnie Golub. Kensington elections are at Kensington Village Hall, 2 Nassau Drive, noon to 9 p.m., on March 17.
Great Neck Estates elections are also noon to 9 p.m., at the Great Neck Estates Village Hall, 4 Atwater Plaza. Running uncontested are incumbent trustees Ed Causin and David Fox.
In the Village of Great Neck Plaza, Mayor Bob Rosegarten and incumbent trustees Maryellen Gussack and Ted Rosen are running uncontested. Elections are at Great Neck Plaza Village Hall, 2 Gussack Plaza, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Village of Russell Gardens will have three uncontested elections---two trustees, incumbents Matthew Bloomfield and Dorothy Zuckerman, and Allen Cohen for village justice. Elections on March 17 are at Russell Gardens Village Hall, 6 Tain Drive, noon to 9 p.m.
Elections in the Village of Saddle Rock, also on March 17, will be held at the Saddle Rock Elementary School, 10 Hawthorne Lane, noon to 9 p.m. Running uncontested for their own seats are trustees Manny Alani and Robert Steinberg.
In the Village of Thomaston, Robert Stevens and Leah Grode are running uncontested for two trustee spots. Elections on March 17 will be at Thomaston Village Hall, 100 East Shore Road, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
