Helen Lawrence, a resident of Harbor Hills in Great Neck for 50 years, passed away on April 5, 1998. She was an active member of the GN chapter of the Pride of Judea Mental Health Center. Over the years she ran many cultural programs for that organization and helped to raise funds at various functions. About 23 years ago she instituted the Pride of Judea Bridge Club which is still going strong every Monday at the Pride Building. Her husband, Al, passed away over a year ago. She leaves three sons, Robert, Steve and Bill and one granddaughter, Hannah.
Jeffrey L. Baron, 44, of Great Neck, died on April 22, 1998. Born in Brooklyn, he grew up in Massapequa and graduated from Massapequa High School. He received his bachelor's degree in business from C.W. Post. He worked for Rickels as a retail salesman and then as department and section manager. He later worked for Gregory Lumber in Great Neck where he sold custom made doors and windows. Husband of Paula (Eichler). Father of Victoria and Gregory. Son of Erwin and Carol Baron. Brother of Stephanie and David. Arrangements were made by the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, Hicksville. Interment Pinelawn Cemetery.
Calista Palmer Luminati, formerly of Great Neck, died on April 28, 1998. Wife of the late Dr. Charles Luminati. Mother of Robert Luminati and Ellen Luminati Ward. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Manhasset. Interment Nasau Knolls Cemetery.
