No Law for Allenwood Exceptions
The Town of North Hempstead has decided that they cannot amend Residence A zoning to protect specific Allenwood residents. Legal and constitutional issues have blocked the way for the anticipated move that was to offer relief to certain ''hardship cases'' resulting from the April 28 upzoning of the Allenwood area from Residence B to Residence A.

Lisa Tempesta in World Winter Games for the Deaf
Growing up in Great Neck, Lisa Tempesta never envisioned representing the United States in international sports competition. Yet that is the position that Tempesta finds herself in today. She will lead the US women's snowboarding contingent at the 14th World Winter Games for the Deaf, to be held in Davos, Switzerland, next March.
