Plaza to Try Valet Parking
In an effort to make the downtown shopping district more ''user-friendly,'' the Village of Great Neck Plaza is about to test valet parking. Scheduled to begin on Saturdays in mid-October, the program will be virtually cost-free to the village, and is not expected to be a revenue-producing project.

Kings Point Sports Update
The Kings Point football team began the 1998 season with a 34-9 win over the Norwich University Cadets on Sabine Field in Northfield, VT on Saturday, Sept. 12. Holding on to the ball for over 38 minutes, the Blue and Gray gained 387 yards on offense. The Kings Point defense held Norwich to just 10 first downs, five in each half of play, and forced three turnovers, two of which led to scores.

Update: Kings Point Weekly Wrap-Up
The Kings Point men's soccer team's five-game winning streak ended with a 1-0 loss to Western Connecticut State on Sept. 16. The Colonials, who were reduced to 10-men in the 50th minute, scored on a 15-yard blast 13 minutes later by sophomore Wiber Scavacini. The Mariners missed a golden opportunity to open the scoring in the 23rd minute of the first half, when the Colonials' goalkeeper sophomore Tim Luchsinger stopped a penalty kick by Kings Point senior Kawika Lucas (Honolulu, HI).
