U. S. Postal Annex Slated for East Shore Road
On Dec. 31, 1999 the U.S. Postal Service closed on the purchase of the lot where the Future Stars tennis facility used to be on East Shore Road. Bought for $2.5 million and cleansed of soil contamination for $500,000, the Postal Service now owns the 59,000 square foot parcel on Manhasset Bay.

Plaza Codifies Parking Laws
Several issues regarding parking were addressed at Great Neck Plaza's Feb. 2 board of trustees meeting. The board addressed new parking regulations for two new municipal lots, codified already existing parking changes in the village, and discussed a parking policy during snowstorms. The snowstorm issue also involved voiding specific parking tickets issued during a recent storm.

North Boys Swimming 10-0 Division Champs
The North Boys Swimming Team under coaches Peter Hugo and Jose Lopez are Conference B champs with 710 points. JFK Bellmore was runner up with 479 points. The meet opened up with a win in the 200 medley relay. Junior Adam Nadelson led off with the back stroke, followed by junior Brian Krypel doing the breast stroke. Junior Zack Goldman did the butterfly and sophomore Jason Armon did the crawl. The team time was 1:47.75.

Kings Point Weekly Wrap Up
The Mariners were 1-1 last week, losing the Yeshiva University 69-65, and beating Steven's Tech, 78-54. Overall Kings Point stands at 11-8. While at Yeshiva, the Mariners found themselves in a very tight game, but then two days later broke the game against Stevens Tech completely wide-open.
