Sounding Gubernatorial, McCall Addresses Lawyers Association
Although State Comptroller Carl McCall was given many openings to announce his candidacy for governor of New York State at the Great Neck Lawyers Association annual installation dinner dance on Feb. 5, his only announcement was that he was delighted to be attending the event. His speech did have the ring of platform planks being hammered into place with fiscal responsibility and prudent, long-range planning as the floor joists.

The History of the Village of Great Neck
Officials at the Village of Great Neck, ''the Old Village,'' have decided that it is time to gather up all old papers and photographs and begin to document a meaningful history of the village. Mayor Steve Tell has appointed a historical committee headed by former Mayor Isabel Varlotta and including a few interested residents of the village. One committee member is actually an archivist and one member is a resident of the peninsula who has already done extensive work regarding the history of Great Neck.

After winning the county title and placing ninth at the state finals last year, the girls bowling team, led by Coach Esther Printz, returned this year hoping to qualify again for the same competitions.

Rebel Boys and Girls Track Teams Compete at County Championships
There was an aura of excitement and enthusiasm for the best male and female runners, hurdlers, jumpers, and shot putters at the Nassau County Class IIIA Championships on Feb. 11. Five Rebel girls and 12 Rebel boys competed there.
