Slouching Toward Development: The Cohan Property
A major hurdle in the obstacle course for the subdivision and eventual development of the Cohan property was bounded on May 31 when the Kings Point Planning Board gave preliminary approval to the "concept of the subdivision plan" and to the necessary variances to implement the plan. The torch has been handed to the Kings Point Board of Appeals that will meet on June 15. In a ruling that was a major setback for the Great Neck Park District, the board also voted that it would not be necessary for the applicant to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement.

UCF First Annual Pro-Am Tennis Tournament
Play tennis with a pro! Be a part of a brand new tennis event benefiting the Great Neck United Community Fund! On Sunday, June 25, as part of the annual Long Island Gold Coast Tennis Tournament, UCF will present a Men's Pro-Am Tennis Tournament at the Parkwood Tennis Complex. The event will afford local players, with a minimum rating of 4.0, the opportunity to play alongside the areas top pros.

Girls Track Reaches Finish Line
In another successful season, the members of the girls track team have excelled both as individuals and as a team. The Rebels finished with an 8-4 record and finished third in the division championships. In addition, a large proportion of runners, jumpers, shot putters, and discus throwers competed in the county championships.
