For all of our readers who reside within the Great Neck Park District, we urge you to vote for park commissioner next Tuesday, Dec. 12. This election is for a three-year park commissioner term that begins on Jan. 1, 2001.

The position of park district commissioner is an important one. The Great Neck Park District runs a wealth of indoor and outdoor parks and sports facilities on the peninsula, and, as well, sponsors many classes and cultural events and exhibits all year long. In addition, it is this park district that manages the commuter parking lots at the train station.

So if you are a park district resident, be sure to vote on Tuesday. The polling places will be open from 3 to 9 p.m. (For information about specific polling place locations and where you vote, call 482-0181.)

Remember, every vote really does count!
