It is a sure sign of spring when the United Community Fund of Great Neck and North New Hyde Park hosts its annual dinner dance. Six villages on the Great Neck peninsula will hold elections next week. The villages of Great Neck Estates, Great Neck Plaza, Kensington, Russell Gardens, Saddle Rock, and Thomaston all have elections coming up on Tuesday, March 20. FULL STORY

The US Merchant Marine Academy men's basketball team (22-7), now referred to as the "Road Warriors" will take on Clark University (23-4) as they advance to the Sweet 16 this upcoming weekend. In the other sectional game to be played on March 9, Catholic University (24-5) will take on SUNY Brockport (21-8). The winners of both games will play their "Elite Eight" game on Saturday night. The site of next weekend's competition will be Clark University in Worcester, MA. Game times Friday will be 5:30 pm for the Brockport-Catholic match-up and 7:30 pm for the Kings Point-Clark game.
