Old Village Adopts Domestic Registry
The Village of Great Neck just joined the ranks of municipalities to adopt a domestic partner registry. At the village's Jan. 6 board of trustees meeting, while members of the public spoke in support of the registry, there were no comments in opposition. Following several board meetings where some concern was expressed (and then negated) regarding possible financial burdens for the village resulting from this local law, the board approved the registry with four supporting votes.

School Board Adopts 2004-05 Calendar
The Great Neck Public Schools board of education adopted a calendar for the 2004-2005 school year. School will open for the year on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004. (Prior to the schools'opening day, there will be two Superintendent's Conference Days, on Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Thursday, Sept. 2. Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 6.)
