School Board Visiting Committee Reports
"There is nothing more exciting than walking into a classroom and seeing the flurry of activity and all of the student productivity," said Judi Bosworth, as she explained the function of the school board visiting committee. Ms. Bosworth, who currently serves as vice president of the Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education, said that, under New York State Education Law, it is the duty of each board of education to have one or more board visiting committee visits to each school once a year and then report back at a public board meeting.

Great Neck Road Traffic Calming Project Public
Great Neck Plaza Mayor Jean Celender announced that plans are underway for a second, new traffic calming and pedestrian safety project in the Village of Great Neck Plaza for the reconstruction of Great Neck Road. A presentation describing the project will be held at the April 21 board meeting, at 8 p.m., in Village Hall, 2 Gussack Plaza. All are welcome to attend.

Stephen Ellwood and Steven Titan to Run Boston Marathon
Among the 20,000 people scheduled to participate in the 108th Boston Marathon this year on Monday, April 19, are two residents of Great Neck --- Stephen Ellwood and Steven Titan. This will be the first Boston Marathon for both runners.

South Men's Lacrosse Going in the Right Direction
The Great Neck South Men's Lacrosse team needed something to get their season going in the right direction after losing their first three games. A rivalry game with Great Neck North on April 8 proved to be just the right cure as the Rebels took an impressive 11-1 win back to South. The Rebels jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first half and cruised from there, dominating most of the play.
