Balboni Funds Saddle Rock Generator
New York State Senator Michael Balboni recently presented funding to the Village of Saddle Rock for a new generator, as part of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management programs. Senator Balboni, chair of the committee on veterans homeland security and military affairs in the state senate, is a member of the Senate Task Force on State and Local Emergency Management and serves on the federal Homeland Security Funding Task Force in Washington, D.C.

Old Village Ends Outside Meddling
In a surprise move, early in the evening during time set aside for public comments at the Nov. 2 board of trustees meeting, Village of Great Neck Deputy Mayor Ralph Kreitzman called for new resolution to limit access to the employees, offices and files of the village to only elected officials and village employees. The resolution was adopted by the board, following Mr. Kreitzman's comments, which included indignation over an alleged attack on the ability of one trustee to earn a living.

Great Neck Cleats Update
On a beautiful Halloween afternoon at Harbor Links, the Great Neck Cleats (girls U13) won their second game of the season, a 3-0 shutout of the Glen Cove Crusaders. The Cleats were led by goals from Hayley Permut, Mollie Levy and Emily Rothkrug and an impenetrable defense led by Liza Kind, Stacey Friedman, Heather Tischler and goalies Haley Finkelstein and Arielle Weisman. The Cleats continue to show improvement and hope to reach .500 with a victory over Mineola next week.
