Park District Again on Cutting Edge of Technology in Saving Lives
The need for a defibrillator in the park district was broached years ago, after Rex Lardner died playing tennis at Memorial Field. Resident tennis players wanted to ensure that, from then on, help would be more readily available should such an emergency recur.

At Parkwood: Ice-skating for Special Needs Athletes
Melissa Ielpi, professional ice-skating coach at Parkwood Park of Great Neck for the past nine years, and past professional touring skater for Disney on Ice from 1997 to 1998, has proudly and enthusiastically spearheaded an ice-skating program for athletes with special needs. The skating program is open to all special needs ice-skaters in Nassau County. And, there is no charge to the athlete or their families to participate in the skating program.
