School District Adopts Proposed 2006-07 Budget
On Tuesday, May 16, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the E. M. Baker Elementary School and South High School, qualified residents of the school district will vote on the 2006-07 proposed school budget and on two board of education seats.

Two years ago when community residents were invited to train to become Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, it sounded like a good idea. Two years later, after witnessing the reverberating aftermaths of the furious hurricanes so mighty that they dwarfed standard emergency responses, training as a neighborhood CERT member seems absolutely essential.

Practice/Tryouts for Men's Great Neck League Tennis Teams
Practice sessions along with tryouts for new players for the Great Neck Tuesday and Wednesday teams in the North Shore Tennis League will be held on Wednesday, May 3 and May 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Memorial courts. All play is doubles and you must be at least 30 years old to participate. Roster space is limited.
