Great Neck Library Teen Workshops

Stranger Than Fiction: Art of Storytelling Workshop for Teens, with Josh Farrar, young adult author/musician, is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Great Neck Library, Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Josh Farrar, author of A Song for Bijou and Rules to Rock By, will share his writing expertise with teens in this first of two workshops. Call 466-8055, ext. 218 for further information.

Great Neck Library: Visiting Mr. Green

At 2 p.m., the Great Neck Library’s Lantern Theatre presents Visiting Mr. Green. This comedy/drama was written by Jeff Baron and performed by Joe Dobkins and Nick Mervoch. The story follows the evolution of a relationship between an elderly widower and a young corporate executive, who are forced into each other’s company by a court order. This will be performed in the Community Room of the Main Library at 159 Bayview Avenue.

Great Neck Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Great Neck Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. to accept Option 7 and approve an owner’s representative for the Main Library Building Renovation Project. The meeting will be held in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. 

Tuesdays With REAP

REAP, retired, energetic, active, professionals meet every Tuesday at the Cumberland School, 30 Cumberland Avenue. This week the meeting kicks off with a presentation by Mischa Schwartz entitled Life in Academia. At 10:30 a.m. the business meeting is followed by My Opinion by Lillian Zamora. At 10:45 a.m. Janet Romeo with Joan Goldberger will discuss Be Seizure Smart. Bring your lunch. Refreshments will be served. After lunch at 12:30 p.m. a roundtable discussion takes place led by Eileen Abramson.

Great Neck Plaza Concert

The Village of Great Neck Plaza presents the summer concert Something Special Big Band, featuring Phil Costa, at Firefighters’ Park (at Grace Avenue), at 8 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, the concert performance will be moved to the Great Neck Senior Center (80 Grace Avenue). Great Neck Library Community Blood Drive

The Great Neck Library will sponsor a Long Island Blood Services Great Neck Library Community Blood Drive. Blood may be donated from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Your donation can save up to three lives. All donors will receive two tickets to a Mets game. For medical information about blood donations, call 1-800-688-0900. To schedule an appointment, call 466-8055, ext. 246 or 208. Drop-ins are welcome. 

 

Real Estate Seminar 

Lin Pan Realty Group will hold a seminar “Real Leader Summit” from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Inn at Great Neck, 30 Cuttermill Road.
