GNBCC Yogathon & Wellness Fair

The Yogathon & Wellness Fair, scheduled for Sept. 22 at Firefighters; Park on Grace Avenue is moving full speed ahead.  Registration brochures are displayed in over 80 different stores and businesses in Great Neck, and also can be found at our Great Neck public libraries and village halls.

This “first of its kind” Fair in Great Neck will benefit the Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition (GNBCC), an all volunteer organization that has been servicing the Great Neck and Long Island community with many programs since 1992. “We are delighted to see the positive feedback we are receiving from the community for this event which is in concert with our mission to promote good health,” said Laura Weinberg, president of the GNBCC.

The GNBCC has been giving back to the Great Neck and Long Island Community in various ways. The coalition’s programs include: Lend a Helping Hand which assists newly diagnosed women, Risk Reduction Outreach Presentations and the Students & Scientists Research Program. Now in its ninth year, this successful program has provided for 29 internships at laboratories in the Northeast which are researching environmental links to breast cancer and breast cancer prevention. GNBCC also has a seat on the board of the

New York State Breast Cancer Network. Through this position, GNBCC advocates for legislation in Albany on a myriad of breast cancer issues, including survivor’s support and environmental links to breast cancer. For more information about GNBCC visit: (Please note that the coalition does not make solicitations by phone.)
