As Sept. 11 approaches once again, let us take the time to remember that horrific day 12 years ago, when the world came crashing down around us and the magnitude of the destruction and the grief over-whelmed each and everyone of us.
We all now live with the wariness and the fear that invaded our peace on that beautiful day that so quickly turned into a deadly nightmare. We were never the same again, and our children and grandchildren will never live in what now seems like such a calm world, without the fear we now live with, the fear that has become a “new norm” for us all.
So come September 11 this year, this coming Wednesday, do take a moment or two to remember those who perished, cherishing peace, and those who ran to help, seeking to fight for peace and to fight for their fellow men.
Remember the day, treasure peace, but never take it for granted.
