Great Neck’s Terrance Livingston won the New York State Track and Field 800 meter championship for the second consecutive year this past Saturday, June 13 at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
Taking the lead from the gun, the University of Tennessee-bound Livingston pulled the pack of followers, led by his main rival Zavior Brown of Pine Bush, New York, through splits of :54.76 and :55.56 en route to a personal best and meet record time of 1:50.32. Brown pulled within a step of his lead in final 80 meters, only to have Livingston pull away to the victory
The season concludes this weekend at the Nike Outdoor National Championships at North Carolina A & T in Greensboro, NC, where Livingston hopes to improve upon last year’s All-American 3rd place finish.
