It’s just about game time! The Great Neck Wolverines High School Hockey Team, sponsored by Great Neck PAL, have been working hard for the past several weeks preparing for game time. The only thing between them and meaningful games is a Halloween practice. After their final preseason practice they take the ice on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the Bethpage rink vs. a strong Bethpage opponent for their first competitive action.
Following the Bethpage matchup, the Wolverines make their 2011-2012 debut right here in Great Neck on Monday night, Nov. 7 at 8:15 at the Parkwood rink. The Wolverines have seven new players this year as they compete in the Varsity division of the High School Hockey League of Nassau County. For the home opener, they take on a strong team from East Williston in what promises to be a competitive match from the start. East Williston won their division championship last season at the Varsity level while the Wolverines were regular season champions at the Junior Varsity level.
Let’s show East Williston why Great Neck is Hockey Town by showing our local spirit and having a large turnout at the opener. The players thrive on the energy of being cheered on by their greatest supporters, the residents of Great Neck.
