Frederic A. Krahn, 93, of Hicksville, died on Nov. 16, 2010. He was a founding member of the Hicksville Public Library Book Club, founding member of the east Meadow Film Society and editor of the Educational Film Guide 1949-55. He is survived by his son Rick Krahn (Peggy Rakas); daughter Liz Rock (David); and grandchildren, Heather, Michael and Julianna. Reposed at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home. Janet Ann Palmese (nee Terrell), of Hicksville, died on Nov. 12, 2010.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Hicksville and graduated from Hicksville High in 1952. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmen and is survived by her five children: Daniel (Madeline) Kerhonkson, NY, Gary (Irene) of Hicksville, Karen Grappone (Paul) Hillsborough, NJ, Edward (Lanjo) of Hicksville and Thomas (Carmela) of Merrick. Loving nana to her seven grandchildren: Laura, Mary Ellen, John, Christina, Nicholas, Marina and Francesca and grandnana to Audri, Liam and Evelyn.

Henry (Hank) E. Frey, of Hicksville, 76, passed away on Oct. 6, 2010. Hank graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He then worked for Sperry (later Unisys) in Great Neck as an electrical engineer. When the union organized he became a union steward. Hank liked his job of helping people and providing information and support.
After Hank retired he worked part time for his son Russ’ computer business. He continued as a volunteer to Unisys retirees with such things as medical questions. Hank loved going to the Y in Plainview.
