Holiday Dessert Celebration

The Friends of the Hillside Public Library announce – their second annual “Holiday Dessert Celebration to be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the all purpose room, 2nd floor, of the Hillside Public Library, 155 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park. Enjoy many delicious homemade desserts while supporting the Friends. Coffee and tea will be served and there will be raffles for handcrafted holiday-themed prizes. Advance tickets are $5 tickets purchased at the door will be limited to seating availability as space is limited. Applications may be obtained at the Hillside Public Library. Please note that this is an adults only event.

Supermarket Bingo Fun Night At Stewart Manor School

A Supermarket Bingo Fun Night will be held at the Stewart Manor School by the PTA. The event will be held in the gym at 7 p.m., doors will open at 6 p.m. A $5 donation includes admission, two boards, chance for a door prize, coffee and dessert. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation to Hold Harvest Fair

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation will hold a Harvest Fair at 223 Stewart Avenue, corner of Nassau Boulevard, Garden City. The preview will be from 7 to 9 p.m. with a $3 fee and on Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with no admission fee. St. John’s Lutheran Annual Fair

The Ladies Aid of St. John’s Lutheran Church, corner of Willis Avenue and Cornell Street, Williston Park will hold its annual fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fair to include homemade baked goods, stationery, Christmas gifts, handicrafts, white elephant items and gently used toys. There will be a Silent Auction for various theme baskets. A bloodmobile will be in the parking lot for anyone who would like to donate blood. Antique/Collectibles Auction at First Presbyterian Church

An antique and collectibles auction will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 16 South 9th Street, New Hyde Park (south off Jericho Turnpike.) The Vincent Smith School will host its seventh Special Education/College Fair from noon until 3 p.m. at 322 Port Washington Blvd, Port Washington. The fair provides one-stop access to special education service providers. Lakeville/North Lakeville Civics to Host Sunlight Speaker

Local civic leaders, Marianna Wohlgemuth, Lakeville Estates Civic Association, and Marietta DiCamillo, North Lakeville Civic Association announce their meeting scheduled 8 p.m. The New York State Office of Attorney General is providing a guest speaker who will describe and explain “Project Sunlight.” A website designed to promote your right to know and to monitor government decision-making. The website – the first of its kind in New York State - offers a new prototype for how government should make information available in today’s “digital democracy.” Campaign contributions to local and state-wide elected officials are also available on this site. Learn how to use the website, what information you can obtain, and how your tax dollars are being spent.
