The administrators and teachers completed the last session of the Danielson Training for Teacher Evaluation and Professional Growth and the district will be ready to implement this program in September.
Administrators continue their training on a monthly basis regarding the new APR regulations.
The District Dignity for Schools Act Committee continues to meet on a regular basis to get all the components in place for September 2012 implementation.
We recently completed the District Wellness Fair with many vendors and health professionals in attendance. All in attendance had an opportunity to learn about many topics.
Science teachers Joanne LaRocca and Lara Holzkamp coordinated an excellent Science Fair. The research and the outstanding projects of the sixth-grade students from all four schools were worth an INTEL award. We are very proud of our students.
The kindergarten registration is nearly completed and we are in the process of Universal Pre-kindergarten registration as well. Details are available on the district website.
During this meeting we will be presenting an overview of the board’s guiding principals to create the budget. We will also present a rough draft of the budget process. The district still has to cut approximately $300,000 out of the budget to get to the tax levy cap and we are determined to do so by the April adoption by the board, thus requiring only the simple majority vote.
