Merillon U8 Blue Sharks vs. Mineola

On a hot and steamy night the Sharks pulled off another victory by the score of 6-2.  We had great pitching that was led by Siva Paturi with 6 K’s and 1 hit in 2 innings of work.  The next 4 innings were pitched by Michael Femia, Ryan Wasserman, Franco Dimilta and Ben Bidner who combined for 8 K’s while only giving up 3 hits.  The offense was led by Stephen DeRocchis, William Regan and Jackson Benjamin who were all 2 for 2 at the plate.  Ryan W also had an RBI double down the left field line.  The defense played great.  Demetris Panouis made a great scoop at first on one hop throw.  Sam Motelson made an unassisted double play on a fly ball in the outfield.  Go Sharks!

Albertson Herricks vs. Merillon U8 Blue Sharks

Another unbearably hot night in NHP.  The Sharks who came away with their 4th straight victory by a score of 9-1.  The game was won with great pitching, great defense and timely hitting.  The pitching was led by 6 different pitchers who combined for 12 K’s on only 2 hits.  Way to go Demetris, Sam, Jackson, Franco, William and Siva.  The offense was led by the clutch hitting of Siva Paturi who was 3 for 3 with 5 RBI.  Demetris Panouis and Sam Motelson combined for 4 for 4 with 6 runs scored.  Michael Femia contributed with a solid double and made a spectacular diving catch at shortstop.  Ryan Wasserman was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  William Regan was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Jackson Benjamin was also 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.  A great all around team effort.  Go Sharks!
