The New Hyde Park Knights played at another Special Olympics Basketball Tournament held at Great Neck North High School’s gym on Saturday, May 11. The Knights came ready to play with smiles on their faces as they waited for the opening ceremonies. Two Great Neck Spirit torchbearers lead the way as the ceremonies started. Alan Someck, of the Spirit, managed the event.
The Knights played two games against the Spirit. Their passing, dribbling and shooting the ball helped them to come out ahead with two games won.
Both teams had fun and played hard. The last game of the day was played against the Nassau County PAL. The PAL team came on strong but the Knights stepped it up to meet the challenge.
It was an equal match as both teams were excited to get a basket. It was a fast paced game with a lot of shots and hustle up and down the court but in the end the PAL came out ahead.
