The MacArthur Generals' varsity baseball team completed another very successful season, earning a spot in the Nassau County Championships for the third straight year and for the ninth time in the past 16 years.
Nine of MacArthur's players were singled out by the Nassau County Coaches for individual awards. Senior pitcher/infielder Justin Moore, sophomore pitcher/infielder Frankie Vanderka, and junior pitcher John Krause each earned All-League honors. Junior infielder Alex Angus, senior outfielder Joe Elio, and senior outfielder Vin Sanquini earned All-Conference honors. All-County awards were won by junior catcher Chris Piperno, sophomore infielder Nick McQuail, and senior pitcher Tyler Savin.
Some individual accomplishments worthy of note include Vin Sanquini's team high .455 batting average, Justin Moore's MacArthur pitching record of only 6 walks on the season, Chris Piperno's team high 22 RBI's, and John Krause's 20 innings of playoff pitching without allowing an earned run.
Congratulations to the Generals for another fine season.
