The Mustang & Shelby Club of Long Island car show will be held July 28 at Levittown Ford, 3195 Hempstead Tpke. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Car registration will be held until noon, $20 entry fee. Levittown Ford will donate 100 percent of the food and drink proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and the club will also be making a donation to the WWP. Substance Abuse Seminar

On Thursday, Aug. 22 the county will hold a substance abuse seminar at the Hicksville firehouse, 20 East Marie Street from 7 to 9 p.m. The sessions are free to attend. The seminar, “You’re Not Alone,” includes informal group discussions with the experts, including some one-on-one time to chat and ask private questions. County staff will also train and provide attendees over the age of 18 with nasal Narcan or Naloxone kits, which can reverse the fatal effects of a heroin or prescription painkiller overdose. The panel also includes an addict in recovery, as well as the parent of someone in recovery, to offer their perspectives.
