Board Recognized For Service

The week of October 28 marked the state’s official School Board Recognition Week. Levittown district’s schools honored members of their board, honored for their service to the Levittown school district, and their commitment to education.

During the Oct. 23 meeting, trustees were gifted with tokens of appreciation including cookies and chocolates from the Gerald R. Claps Career and Technical Center Key Club, education program T-shirts from Salk Middle School’s National

Junior Honor Society, a donation to the Levittown Food Pantry from Wisdom Lane’s student council and posters from each of the elementary schools.

MacArthur High School gifted mugs and key chains, while Division Avenue High School gave the trustees items from CoffeeCakes.com and a donation to the Children’s Tumor Foundation in honor of student Bailey Gribben.

Board President Kevin Regan added, “Being a board member is not an easy job, but we all try to do the best we can for the students of the district.”

The bargaining units and PTA also donated to the Levittown Food Pantry on behalf of the trustees.

Superintendent Dr. James Grossane said, “We truly appreciate what you take on and do for us and the wonderful results of your service.”
