Frieda (Brolin) Garman, of Washingtonville, NY, former resident of Massapequa Park, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2009 at the age of 92, surrounded by her three children, Lawrence Edward Brolin (wife Eileen), Lynda J. Brolin and Beverly Joanne Brolin. She was born in Astoria, NY, on Oct. 10, 1917, the daughter of Andrew and Hannah Bergh.

Our beloved Gretchen (Eisele) Mucci, 72, passed away peacefully in her Sierra Madre, CA, home on Nov. 1, 2009, All Saints Day.

Gretchen was an early resident of Levittown and a member of Levittown High School’s first graduating class.

Gretchen dedicated her life to others personally and with her 19 years at Optimist Youth Homes. She will be greatly missed by the many people whom she affected with her generous spirit and positive attitude.

Gretchen is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Gil, Christopher and Denise, Timothy and Suzanne and Laura; seven grandchildren; and siblings, Richard Eisele, Anita Dewitt, John Eisele, Barbara Hoenig and Billy Eisele.

A memorial will be held at Optimist Youth Homes, Highland Park, CA, on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m.

Joseph J. Galgano, of Levittown (formerly of Rosedale and Calverton), passed away October 10, 2009. Husband of Rose, father of Michael (Jayne), Chris (Kathy) and Joanne Hayes (Patrick), grandfather of Michael, (Christina), Josephine, Justine, Christopher, Ryan, Danny, Meghan, Jillian, Thomas and Sean and great-grandfather of Michael.

Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held at St. Kilian RC Church with interment following at Calverton National Cemetery. Donations in Joseph’s name may be sent to the Orzac Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation (900 Franklin Ave., Valley Stream, NY 11580).

At 92, Marion “Tess” Teslik was an independent, quick-witted, working woman with a flair for fashion.

Growing up in Jamaica, Queens, Ms. Teslik attended finishing school after her high school days and later enrolled at Fordham University.

She attended three years of college before meeting her husband, Alexander, Jr., while on a train traveling between New York and Connecticut. They later married and Ms. Teslik, an only child, went on to have three children, Alexander, Steven and Melanie.

Obituary: Helen Marie Keaveny Corrigan

Helen Marie Keaveny Corrigan, 85, wife of the late Gerard Eugene “Gerry” Corrigan and a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away on June 1, 2009 at Shore LifeCare in Parksley, VA. Born on Sept. 3, 1923 in Boston, MA, and raised in Glen Cove, she was the daughter of the late Michael Keaveny and Mary Taggart Keaveny.

She raised her family with her beloved husband Gerry, in Levittown and on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, making her home in Melfa for the last 30 years.

Survivors include three children, Sean Corrigan of Simi Valley, CA, Mary Corrigan of Troy, NY, and Michael Corrigan of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Michael Keaveny of St. James, NY, and John Keaveny of Albertson, NY. Other than her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Ann.

Funeral services were conducted from St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Onley, VA, on June 6. Interment at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock. Arrangements were made by the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staffs of Shore LifeCare and Hospice of the Eastern Shore for their support.
