I want to first thank my wife and family who took so much time out of their schedules to help with my election. To my wife who stood by my side through thick and thin. I have to be the luckiest person for the past 44 years. God willing it will last another 44 years.
I want to take this time to thank all who voted for me. I understand what the veterans were saying. Maybe I should have listened more; I know why few came out and voted. I felt that I could have done both jobs.
I also hear what some of you were saying, many of you felt that if I had won the election it would have taken time away from 10,000 veterans that I took an oath to serve.
I know we have a lot of unfinished business ahead of us.
Just so you all know the blue star mothers will be part of our meeting when we go upstate. We will find a place for them to hold their meetings.
I also want to thank C.S.E.A. for all they did. Without your support I don’t think I would have gone as far as I had.
Wishing everyone a safe new year.
For God and country,
