Friday, 02 March 2012 00:00Here are a couple of items of interest since my last letter. I had a conversation with Gary Hudes this evening. Gary explained to me that he has approached the Levittown Theater people about doing a presentation for the community and he was told that they (Levittown theater) did not want to do anything with a large group. As I have said previously, none of us know what Lowes’ specific plans are concerning adding the sale of liquor in the theater.
I brought to the attention of the Levittown Property Owners at the past two meetings the fact that the Levittown theater has not made a presentation to us which would explain their intentions and that I thought it was unreasonable to say “NO” without appropriate background information.
At present there is a belief that Levittown Theater intends to send representatives to the March LPOA meeting (but this is not confirmed). The ball in now in the court of the Levittown Theater to contact the LPOA to reserve time and present their intentions to the community.
Based on what Gary told me tonight (that the Levittown Theater did not want to deal with a large community group) I would agree that the Levittown Theater should not be granted a license to serve liquor until they have presented to the community an acceptable plan and if they continue to try to just push it past us they should be denied for that reason alone.
Gary, thank you for making a point of taking the time to talk with me.
