The Parent Association of the Levittown District Swim Team, September 2009 – For 20 youth sports organizations demonstrating their commitment to responsibility in and out of the pool, Liberty Mutual will soon make a very memorable contribution, in the amount of a $2,500 Responsible Sports Community Grant. The Parent Association of the Levittown District Swim Team is hoping to be one of them.

Saturday, Sept. 12 was opening day for the Levittown Red Devils Football League. With a forecast calling for rain, and some threatening clouds, the players and cheerleaders lined up at Center Lane and Hempstead Turnpike for their march through the neighborhood to their home field on Loring Road. As always the clouds left and it turned out to be a beautiful day for the LRD parade.
The Rockets red glare was seen by their opponents Labor Day weekend as the girls started off the 2009/10 season by winning the title in the Oceanside Tournament.
LAC Firecrackers traveled to Audobon, PA on the weekend of July 18 to compete in the double elimination 10U Babe Ruth Softball Regionals. In the first game the Firecrackers played the Pennsylvania state Champs Luzerne County Chaos beating them 10-2, in the third inning with the Firecrackers leading 3-2 Luzerne had second and third with the cleanup hitter up, who hit a fly ball to right field where Firecracker outfielder Marissa (Red) Trezza made a diving catch saving two runs. The Firecrackers went on to win 10-2. Winning pitcher Samantha Petry struck out eight. The offense was led by Ashley Jones two hits, three runs scored and Justine Jean three hits and five RBIs.
The U12 girl’s team, Levittown Strikers, has had a great start to their new season.
Levittown Rage Boys U10 soccer team played in the HBC Labor Day Tournament and took first place in their division.
Basketball – COED, Grades K through 12. Practices begin in December. Season runs through March. Program is Monday-Friday, one or two evenings per week. Includes shirt, shorts and medals. Parents needed for coaches, assistant coaches or division commissioners. Fee: $75 (family discount - second and third child, $5 off).
The 14U LI Sharks won their division in NCT summer baseball Monday in a battle with Farmingdale.
The Island Trees Lady Dawgs Junior Varsity Basketball team won the Freeport Summer League Championship this summer.
