After shutting-out their last three opponents, the girls varsity badminton team, coached by Karen Olsen-Helmold, defeated Wantagh recently by a score of 5-2, bringing their league record to 7-1. Playing in the first singles position, Julie Riley and playing in the second doubles position, Victoria Mulligan and Alyssa Pascual, led the team with seven-and-one records.
Following closely behind is the third doubles team of Alana Martini and Bernadette Hinshaw, with a 6-1 record.
Also having a marvelous season are Mehack Ali, playing in the second singles position, as well as Kaitlyn Fischer, who plays in the third singles position. Both girls have a record of six-and-two.
Kelley Marlow and Mira Gor, who play in the first singles position facing the best doubles teams that our competitors have to offer, are also having a winning season with a five-and-three record.
