For the second time in Seaford High School history the varsity cheerleading squad has qualified to compete for the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) this winter. The competition, considered the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country, was held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, on Feb. 9.
The squad qualified for the national tournament after competing in the small varsity coed, division II regionals on the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) circuit in Toms River, NJ.
Members of the squad include Captain Kelly Ackerman, grade 12; Michaela Arguello, grade 10; Jamie Bouretis, grade 11; Emily Burdick, grade 11; Captain Erin Burdick, grade 12; Tiffany Casella, grade 8; Kristina D’Amore; grade 12, Stephanie Fischetto, grade 12; Raquel Gamboa, grade 12; Heather Gentil, grade 12; Alexis Guadagno, grade 12; Taylor Higgins, grade 12; Captain Amanda Leonardi, grade 12; Makalya MacSaveny, grade 12; Captain Erin McClinchey, grade 12; Mackenzie Meyer, grade 11; Cindy Neiman, grade 11; Nancy Pecora, grade 12; Austin Quiroz, grade 12; Stephanie Ruttura, grade 11; Kayla Simak, grade 12; Madison Skretch, grade 10; and Vinny Vigna, grade 12.
