The MacArthur High School wrestling team has started off the 2009-2010 season on the right foot and is currently ranked number five in New York State.
First and second place finishes in the first two tournaments of the year were exactly what the Generals needed to begin the season. The Generals followed with a hard-earned victory over pre-season, number one ranked Wantagh followed by wins over Plainedge and Bellmore.
The Generals headed into a grueling stretch of the season during the holidays. The Long Island Challenge, which consists of the best teams on Long Island, and the Union-Endicott duals, which are comprised of the best teams in the state, lies ahead for the Generals. The Generals then head to the Eastern States Championships, which is considered the toughest individual tournament in the state. The Generals are working toward a Nassau County dual meet title and a Nassau County Tournament title as well. Good luck and keep working hard.
