The high school gymnasium is the only voting site for the annual budget vote and board member election. In order to facilitate efficient traffic flow for the vote on Tuesday, May 20 the Manhasset School District will be implementing its alternative traffic pattern, similar to the one used during last year's budget and bond vote. All residents are asked to remain aware of possible traffic when coming to the school for voting. Also bear in mind:
• All vehicular traffic, with the exception of school buses, will be directed to the rear of the Secondary School building, near the gymnasium.
• Students are strongly encouraged to use district bus transportation on May 20, 2008. If this is not possible, parents are also asked to drop off their secondary school children earlier in the morning at the rear of the building to assist in alleviating congestion.
• All student bus pick-up and drop-off will be conducted in front of the building, near the high school/middle school main entrances.
• Voters are reminded that the heaviest amount of campus traffic occurs between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. (morning student drop-off), and 2:45 and 3:45 p.m. (afternoon student pick-up) and to plan accordingly when coming to the school for voting.
• Staff cars and school buses will be relocated on May 20 to provide added parking spaces so that community members who are on campus to vote will have access to parking spaces near the high school gymnasium.
The district extends its thanks to all residents, in advance, for their cooperation and patience, as this plan is implemented, to provide a smoother flow of traffic on and off the school grounds on May 20.
