During the Long Island Championships on Sunday, May 4, the team took 3rd place over all; the two schools that took 1st and 2nd place are from New Jersey.
On Tuesday, May 6, the Manhasset High School varsity baseball team defeated Lynbrook by a score of (11-4). The win gave Manhasset the ABC4 League title. This is the first league title since 1976. The varsity baseball team currently has 14 wins against only 4 losses. The remaining schedule has one more league game against Lynbrook and two non-league games with East Rockaway and Floral Park. The Nassau County High School playoffs begin on Saturday, May 17 with the site and opponent to be determined.
The steady play of Senior Captain Carmine DiGruccio, Taylor Bines, Eric DiAndrea, sophomores Matt Demitroff, Tommy Heenan, Brian Diaz, juniors Chris Martelli, Mike Andreson, Stephen Madison, Mike and Alex Snee, Robert Reichenbach, Stephen Toole and Mike Drago have greatly contributed to the team's success!
