Temple Judea of Manhasset welcomes Ron Schweiger, authority on the lore of New York City and the borough of Brooklyn, from 2-4 p.m. He will take all on a nostalgic journey to the early days of Coney Island, Brighten Beach, Sheepshead Bay, and Ebbets Field. The program, sponsored by the Greatest Generation of Temple Judea of Manhasset, 333 Searingtown Road, Manhasset, NY 11030 is $10 per person and “more than a nosh” will be served. Tom Humbert, baritone and songwriter. will return to our stage. Tom, an accomplished musician and songwriter, has performed with the Rainbow Room Jazz group locally and in the Hamptons. •Stroke Support Group. North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset offers a free weekly support group for stroke survivors and caregivers every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 300 Community Dr., Entrance 3, and Apt. Bldg. #304. Each meeting begins with a general social period from 10 to 11 a.m. From 11 a.m. to noon guest speakers give presentations on a wide variety of topics. Lunch is from noon to 12:45 p.m. (bring your own lunch, beverages provided). From 12:50 pm to 1:30 pm, physical therapy is provided for stroke survivors, and concurrently a separate caregiver’s support group meeting is held. •Brain Tumor Support Group. This is an educational support group designed to help adults with brain tumors improve their quality of life and share their experiences. Learn about testing and treatment options, available resources, share information and socialize. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public. Held on the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Brain Tumor Center, North Shore University Hospital, 300 Community Dr., 9 Tower, Large Conference Room, Manhasset.
