OLG Golf & Tennis Classic

Our Lady of Grace Montessori School and Center will host it’s 15th Annual Golf & Tennis Classic at Plandome Country Club. Tennis is slated for a 9:30 a.m. start and a Golf Shotgun Start will be 1 p.m. Cocktail Party begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow. Coalition Against Substance Abuse

CASA holds its final sector meeting of the 2012-13 grant year on at 9 a.m. in the Manhasset High School Board Room. Discussions on reapplication for years 6-10 and goals to take meaningful community-wide action to reduce underage drinking and substance abuse in the community.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock’s Social Justice Committee (UUCSR) will screen the film Changing the Conversation: America’s Gun Violence Epidemic at 7 p.m. in the Social Hall (48 Shelter Rock Rd. Manahasset, NY 11030). The director of the film, Janet Fitch, will lead a discussion following the film.

Got A Question About Brooklyn History?

Temple Judea of Manhasset welcomes Ron Schweiger, authority on the lore of New York City and the borough of Brooklyn, from 2-4 p.m. He will take all on a nostalgic journey to the early days of Coney Island, Brighten Beach, Sheepshead Bay, and Ebbets Field. The program, sponsored by the Greatest Generation of Temple Judea of Manhasset, 333 Searingtown Road, Manhasset, is $10 per person and “more than a nosh” will be served. Don Scott Memorial 5K Run

The Don Scott Foundation’s 5K Run will begin at Mary Jane Davies Gazebo on Plandome Road in Manhasset and finish on Nassau Avenue, short of Park Avenue. Nationally renowned speaker Gwyeth Smith, Jr. will give a presentation trying to “demystify the college admissions process” at 7:30 p.m. in the Manhasset High School Auditorium. Parents and students who are curious to start learning about this process, or who are currently directly involved in it, will all benefit from this program.

‘Ask the Doctors’ Series

Ask the Doctors is hosted by Harvey Passes, DDS and Adhi Sharma, MD from 7-8:30 p.m. at 415 Northern Blvd., 2nd floor.
