Chanukah Story Time

Join Rabbi Todd Chizner of Temple Judea of Manhasset at 10 a.m. at Zion Lion located at 390 Willis Avenue, Roslyn Heights. Rabbi Chizner will be reading a wonderful, interactive Chanukah story that is appropriate for children through age eight. The children will receive Dreidels and chocolate gelt and the store will be open to do Chanukah shopping. Temple Judea of Manhasset is located at 333 Searingtown Road, Manhasset, NY. Hugs Across America Cocktail Party

Hugs Across America will host their annual cocktail party 7 p.m. at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club. The event will benefit Hugs Across America, a non-profit  Manhasset-based organization, that has provided over 750,000 teddy bears to children in crisis, both locally and around the country.  This year’s honoree will be Manhasset resident, Stella Spanakos, CEO of the Nicholas Center for Autism and founder of Spectrum Designs Foundation, Ltd.  Both offer a variety of services to young adults with special needs. The Manhasset Community Club presents the Golden Age of Radio and Television by Richard Knox.  The Focus will be on popular shows and personalities primarily between 1935-1965. Manhasset Athletic Hall of Fame

The Manhasset Booster Club will hold its induction ceremony from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Manhasset High School Gymnasium.  All are welcome and encouraged to join. Ticket prices are $25 per adult and $10 per student  child. Inductees are Daniel Denihan, Jr., Tom Emma, Glen Mueller, Vanessa Bognato Scrafford, Jay Strananhan, Michelle Cusimano Vachris, and the 1967 Boys lacrosse team.  Refreshments will be served as well as a “Taste of Manhasset” by local restaurant La Coquille.

Sixth Annual “A Run Down Hero Highway”

This patriotic and family-friendly 5k run/walk/stroll honors local hero Sgt. James J. Regan, and helps raise money for the Lead The Way Fund.
